Springtime...and the Dentist

My lilacs are blooming.  They smell so sweet.  Had some hail a day or two ago and they really took a beating and am thinking they will not last much longer -- not that they have a very long blooming period as it is.  Tulips come and go so quickly, too -- delicate and short lived.  Guess a lot of the spring flowers are like that, huh !  Just sort of giving us a taste of what is to come.

Went to the dentist yesterday.  Had two teeth extracted.  One 'slipped' right out --- the other kept breaking off when he would pull.  Damn, thought he was never going to get it out.  And the noise !  Yuck !!  I kept thinking -- " this puppy is gonna hurt like hell, when the novocane wears off " -- and, by cracky, I was right.  He put a couple of stitches in it --- wrote me out a prescription for some vicodin -- and told me to sleep as much as I could.  Yeah, right, like any one can sleep with a wad of gauze the size of a good chaw of tabaccy, and the horrid taste of blood in their mouth!  Seems like no matter what I do my teeth are constantly needing major overhauls.  And ... I foikin' go for checkup and get work done on them, every year.  Dr. says it is because I am getting long in the tooth... lol ... leave it to a dentist to refer to aging in such a manner!

Off to catch up on a couple of discussion boards  ----  take care all

Ouch. I feel your pain. Literally. I've had a couple of teeth pulled recently and it's been an experience to try and forget as quickly as possible. Hope you're feeling better and having a super weekend.

I love lilacs, tulips, violets. They leave too soon. And the damn rabbits would always take off my tulips.

And what really hurts about those teeth is all the $$$ flying away to pay for the dentist's mansion.

Hi Lodi - I'm back! I know what you mean about the pain of extractions but now that we live near the Mexican border, we can get excellent dental care at very reasonable prices. They just raised their fee for extractions to $30, but the best part is that there is absolutely NO PAIN. They spray something in your mouth before injecting pain meds and you don't even feel the needle. Also, they keep asking you if it hurts and if you say yes, they spray more stuff and you don't feel a thing. I never felt a thing when I had 8 teeth pulled at one time. I do not understand why they can't do that in this country. I have had teeth pulled in California and no matter where I went, I still had pain. I agree, Spring flowers just don't last very long.;)
