the battle continues ....

Spent hours  [again] trying to get SurfSideKick out of my computer.  All attempts failed

Is Spring Break here in Oregon .. and my little coastal community has, for years, been a favorite stomping ground for those that like to 'get away'  during their break.  And along with them comes the noise, the congestion .... and the need for a larger police force.  The teens and young adults, not of drinking age, do like to party on the beach, and that, of course includes alcohol.  Throngs of drunken, like minded, partiers have in years past caused a goodly amount of damage ... to themselves and to the properties surrounding their party sites.  Their have been riots, where the National Guard have been called in for crowd control, as our small police force can not begin to handle the multitudes, and the big city news stations sending their camera crews and reporters to cover it all, do not help the situation.  The presence of cameras does not deter it incites.  Anyway ..... I stay away from the downtown area for a couple of weeks and pity those that have to work in that area and deal with all the problems.  It is far more fun to be a tourist in a tourist town than it is to be a permanent resident, for sure !

Spring really is in the air ..... hope you all are enjoying it !!

hhmmmm, you know I really need to get my glasses back for when I first read your post I seemingly read "Thongs" instead of "Throngs" & the image of people in thongs & drunk. . well. . it was quite scarey!!

I love that people can enjoy themselves. . I don't love that liquor is a source of their "joy" & what it brings out of them. I hope you & your area survive Spring Break & I hope the tourist realize where they are at & are very very respectable
